At a conference in 2013, acclaimed actor and filmmaker Tyler Perry found himself up on the platform laying hands on and prophesying over Bishop T.D. Jakes. In an interview with CBN’s Studio 5, Perry says of the event, whose video has since gone viral, “I was on fire, and I couldn’t hold It.”
While the interview was meant to promote Perry’s newest book, Higher Is Waiting, the subject switched to the video that went viral of him praying and prophesying over the Christian mogul and megachurch pastor. Perry describes his initial reluctance before being called up to the platform: “I was sitting there, and going please don’t call me up there because I don’t know what’s going to come out of my mouth because I am feeling the power of God and you all better leave me alone right now.”
Perry, best known for his “Madea” drag character, admitted that this was not his first time prophesying: “It’s been happening since I was a kid,” Perry told CBN. “It still happens, randomly, it still happens. And people are always shocked and stunned by it. It is just being sensitive and intuitive and feeling what’s going on.”
Perry said of the moment he laid hands on the bishop, “That moment was very different because I had been at MegaFest [Jakes’ annual faith, film, and family conference] that whole week. I was filled, just overflowing with the word and joy. It was the most wonderful experience I had in a long time. And I was on fire, and I couldn’t hold it.”

Newsmax has released their list of the 100 most influential Christians, and Billy and Franklin Graham, along with Joel Osteen, top that list.
Those who made the list come from various denominations within Christianity, and certainly wouldn’t always agree with each other, but at least one thing they share is their profound impact on their faith communities and beyond.
Topping the list as the most influential Christian is the Rev. Billy Graham, who recently celebrated his ninety-ninth birthday. Following Billy Graham is his son, the Rev. Franklin Graham who heads the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, as well as the ministry Samaritan’s Purse.
Next on the list is Lakewood Church pastor Joel Osteen. Although Osteen has been criticized for his propensity to preach a prosperity gospel, he has thousands of supporters, and 45,000 people attend Lakewood’s weekly services.
Fourth on the list is former Arkansas governor and pastor Mike Huckabee. Huckabee has been influential in both the Church and in politics. He ran for president twice, most recently in 2016.
Other names on the list include Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church, Jerry Falwell Jr., the Chancellor of Liberty University, Vice President Mike Pence, former Alaska governor and vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, and many other pastors, speakers, authors, and politicians.

The Museum of the Bible officially opened it’s doors on Friday, November 7th, in Washington D.C, amidst an ongoing fury of debate over the authenticity of the artifacts on display there. After paying a fine and returning what was proven to be fake by Federal authorities in July, the Green Family’s vision trekked on to completion.
Criticism has followed the project from it’s birth. “It’s the most controversial topic in the world. It’s the biggest-selling book; most banned, destroyed, influential book … We will irritate everybody,” Cary Summers, museum president, said.
The museum is broken up into three sections over six floors, including a roof-top Biblical garden, a 500-seat theatre, restaurant and interactive ride. Green stated that it makes no attempt to convince one way or the other that the Bible is true, rather “hopefully motivate people to engage with this book to let it have an impact on their life.”
”We discovered how precious these artifacts are. They are also precious to all kinds of people, all over the world,” said Steve and Jackie Green, of the Hobby Lobby craft store chain. “So many people of different faith traditions have pulled us aside and expressed their gratitude for this project.” The Greens were highly involved in museum project, which began almost a decade ago as a simple exhibit of artifacts they had collected thus far.
Even in the wake of controversy, many will not have the opportunity to experience the Bible in a new way: a goal the Greens claim to have aimed for all along. He said of the museum and it’s contents: “Its role is to present facts and let people make their own decisions.”
