Going Through The Dry Season: When You Can’t Seem To Feel Or Hear God Anymore
Without it we will eventually feel stuck or worse, just go anywhere without direction. But our senses should not only be our indicator. Because eventually they will fail one time or another. So, what do we do when this happens?
Let me get one thing straight.
Not hearing God or not sensing His presence is not an indicator that God has left you. We all go through dry seasons. A “dry season” means a time when we are doing our usual thing to talk to God and yet it seems like refreshing from His presence does not come anymore and you just sit there waiting for nothing.
Our common misconception about dry seasons is that, it is going to be hard. Well, there is quite a truth in that but I want us to view it at a different angle.
Dry seasons are the hardest to hear God. But don’t fret. It doesn’t mean God is silent. On the contrary, a dry season is a huge message on its own. It is actually an invitation to seek him in a whole new level of intimacy and worship until we get a break through.
The bible says that “If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.” (Jeremiah 29:13 New Living Translation)
That’s pretty self explanatory. God is not silent. This is His promise to us that He will surely be found. It takes faith to know that regardless of how we feel, God is faithful and He will never leave nor forsake us.
Let’s take a look at Hebrews 11:1 (NLT): “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.”
It basically means, FAITH EXIST WHEN WE CANNOT SEE, FEEL or HEAR.
