The Sex In ‘Fifty Shades’ Movie Is No Match With The Sex In Song Of Solomon–Here Are 3 Reasons Why!

When you read the old testament book Song Of Solomon, you will find a conversation between a lover and his beloved. It narrates how two lovers long for each other in an erotic imagery. But the book is actually speaking about the celebration of human love.

Today’s films show a different meaning of sex, though. The movies “Fifty Shades of Grey” and its sequel “50 Shades Darker” are just some of the many movies that twist the real meaning of sex. And though the “Fifty Shades” series isn’t a pornographic movie, it still shows a dark meaning of sex, thus making it incomparable to what is written in the book of Song Song of Solomon. Here are three points on sex from the book of Song of Solomon:

Sex is Good

Christian churches have always been labeled as the “anti-sex” but in reality, Christianity has always celebrated the joy of the union of two human bodies. The book is unashamed about physical passion and shows sex as a blessing.

Sex is not Violent

The most unbiblical part in the “Fifty Shades” is that cruelty and abuse in sex are normal and desirable. But in the Song of Solomon, the pleasure of sex is simply pleasure without needing to hurt or tie up someone.

It honors Love

When we truly love someone, it is about selfless giving. Love isn’t self-seeking. The Song of Solomon is surely written by someone who experienced the greatest joy of human love. Sex is all about love and not about lust.

Sex in the Song of Solomon is surely a kind of love’s expression of two lover’s unity. It is far from the definition of love this world has been displaying to us.
